Umansky Lawyers Get DUI Reduced to Reckless Driving

Our client was a salesperson making great money. Unfortunately for her, she got pulled over for driving under the influence while her kids were in the car. She admitted to the police to drinking wine and margaritas at a local restaurant. In many cases where a defendant is charged with DUI and has kids in the car, the government will seek enhanced DUI penalties and many times will want the defendant to go to jail. Our lawyers were able to get the DUI reduced to a reckless driving by highlighting the defendant’s need for mental health counseling, and that the client had already initiated treatment. Our client not only was able to avoid jail but got her charge reduced to a reckless driving.
