High School Freshman Arrested for Punching Deputy

A 15-year-old high school freshman was arrested on Monday for allegedly punching an Orange County deputy sheriff who was asked to remove him from his classroom. The freshman was allegedly being disruptive, calling his teacher names, and would not leave when he was asked to. The school resource officer was then called to remove the teen. When asked to leave, the teen allegedly began swearing at the deputy and slammed down his desk.

The deputy tried to grab the teen who pulled his arm away and then allegedly hit the deputy's hand. The deputy pulled out his baton and hit the teen several times. This is when the teen allegedly punched the deputy in the side of the head. The school dean helped the deputy take down the teen, while the deputy used pepper spray on him.

The deputy also noted in his report that the 15-year-old is 6-foot-4 and weighs 260 pounds.

The attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm understand that sometimes children do things that put them at odds with the law. However, keeping them from being charged as an adult or simply thrown into the system is not the way to help them. If your child is a first time offender, or even has had run-ins with the law before, we can help.

Please contact the Umansky Law Firm to set up a consultation with one of our attorneys who has experience with helping those accused of juvenile crimes. We serve the Orange County, Orlando, and the entire state of Florida.
