Aggravated Battery Charge Dropped

A recent Umansky Law Firm client was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery on a Pregnant Person, related to Domestic Violence. The affidavit alleges that the client and his girlfriend, who was seven months pregnant at the time, were involved in a verbal argument while sitting in a car together. The victim alleges that the defendant then slapped her. She exited the vehicle, called 911, and the defendant was then arrested. The initial appearance judge ordered that the defendant have no contact with the victim.

The defendant then hired the Umansky Law Firm to fight the charges. Attorney Lindsey Gergely filed a Motion to Modify Bond for the defendant and convinced the judge to allow contact between him and the victim while the case was pending. Attorney Gergely spoke the with the State Attorney's Office and over several conversations ultimately convinced them that there was not enough evidence to move forward with prosecution. The prosecutor decided to file No Information on the case and did not go forward with formal charges in the case.

The client is considering rehiring the Umansky Law Firm to have his criminal record expunged so that he will be able to legally deny that he was ever arrested in this case.

If you have been charged with domestic violence in Orlando or Orange County, Florida, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the Umansky Law Firm for an initial and confidential consultation.
