Possible Meth Lab Discovered Near UCF
Police were called to an extended-stay hotel near the University of Central Florida after a chemical odor was reported coming from one of the third floor rooms on Tuesday. Authorities investigated and say they evacuated the entire hotel after they discovered what may be a methamphetamine lab in the room. Two men and a woman staying in the room were detained for questioning, but no arrests have been made.
The Orange County Fire Rescue says they are treating it as a suspected meth lab since the call came in as a suspicious liquid. The bomb squad, narcotics squads and a hazardous materials crew were called in. Hotel guests were allowed to return to their rooms later Tuesday with the exception of those on the third floor.
