Ohio Teacher Charged with Prostitution
A fourth grade teacher in Bellefontaine, Ohio has been arrested and charged with prostitution. Authorities claim that prostitution was her "side job," and that she had been posting sex-for-money advertisements on Craigslist.
The teacher allegedly took a half day of sick time to go to a motel where she had arranged to meet someone. The meeting was arranged using a school computer. It was the Craigslist ads that got the woman in trouble after someone notified the police about them. Authorities are unsure how long she's been posting the ads, or involved in prostitution. However, the school district she has worked in for the last 13 years says she has been a good employee and has never been disciplined.
The teacher was arrested in the parking lot of the motel by undercover agents. She has been charged with one misdemeanor count of prostitution and one felony count of unauthorized use of property for using the school's computer.
Obviously, being charged and convicted of prostitution will damage your social standing in your community, as well as seriously curtail future employment opportunities. If you are currently employed, you may also lose your job. And solicitation can result in serious consequences, too. However, you don't need to give up on the rest of your life if you have been arrested for prostitution of solicitation.
If you are in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, and have been charged with prostitution or solicitation, please contact the experienced attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm. We will fight the charges in order to get you a second chance.
