Orange County Police Investigating One of Their Own for Solicitation
According to deputies, on March 31 the man allegedly stopped and allowed a suspected prostitute into his vehicle. Police followed the man onto a poorly-lit street where he was pulled over.
His side of the story is that he offered to give her a ride, and when she offered her services for $500, he told her to get out. He says he did not make a financial arrangement with her.
Rather than arresting the man, the deputies sent their report to the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors there will decide whether to charge him. The jail veteran resigned from his position the day after he was stopped.
What this seems to show is that it really doesn’t matter what walk of life you are in, errors in judgment happen. Though it doesn’t happen to the police very often, tourists who come to Florida may be tempted to seek out these situations.
If you have been charged with soliciting in Orange County or Orlando, Florida, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the Umansky Law Firm. We offer a free and confidential initial case evaluation.
