Lawnmower DUI in Illinois
If your license has been revoked due to a drunken driving conviction, it’s best to have someone else drive you, take public transportation, or walk if you need to get somewhere. A 49-year-old man figured it’d be best if he took his riding mower. And, why not? After all, you don’t need a license to drive a riding mower. The problem here is that the man decided to take his riding mower on the road. Another problem is that the man who’d had his license revoked was on his way home from the gas station where he’d picked up more beer. And the final, and biggest, problem is that the man was driving the mower drunk.
Police were notified by witnesses that the man was weaving in and out of traffic on the riding mower. Police tried to stop the man, but he drove into his front yard reportedly spilling Milwaukee’s Best along the way.
Things the man should not have done are obviously drive his riding mower drunk. He should have also stopped when the police showed up. Now he’s facing a second DUI charge and bonded out on $10,000.
Another story to shake your head at. However, if you remove all the window dressing, this is essentially a story about a guy who drove drunk and got a DUI. Most people will likely avoid getting another DUI once they’ve been convicted of their first. There are some who may repeat the mistake and have to face the consequences. Unless they have an experienced DUI defense lawyer.
The attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm have defended many people who were facing charges of DUI and were able to have the charges reduced. Everyone deserves to be defended by knowledgeable lawyers who will fight for your right, no matter what the charge.
If you are in the Orange, County or Orlando, Florida area and have been charged with DUI or another crime, please contact the experienced criminal defense lawyers at the Umansky Law Firm for an initial consultation.
