Prostitution Charges Dropped Before They are Even Filed
A recent Umansky Law Firm client is a security consultant. He has no criminal history. However, he was allegedly observed by law enforcement picking up a prostitute. The alleged prostitute made incriminating statements regarding the client and accused him of being a regular customer of hers. The prostitute additionally stated that the client had just visited the ATM to get money to pay her for her services and that they were on their way to a motel. Based on these allegations, the client was arrested and charged with solicitation to commit prostitution.
After hiring the Umansky Law Firm to defend him against the charges, Attorney Zahra Umansky was able to convince the prosecutor's office to not file formal charges against the client. All charges were subsequently dropped by the prosecutor's office prior to the client's arraignment date.
A clean criminal record can certainly help you out if you are charged with something felonious, or otherwise get into trouble with the law. It is understood that even those who have never done anything to draw the attention of the authorities may have a lapse in judgment, or simply get caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time and get arrested. However, you have the right to have your day in court, and you'll want an attorney with experience representing you.
If you have been charged with prostitution or solicitation in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm today.

DUI Charge Dropped
A recent Umansky Law Firm client who had a prior DUI arrest was pulled over by the Indian River Sheriff's Office for suspicion of driving under the influence. The client was ultimately arrested by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office for this offense. The client was taken into custody and given a breath test. The client blew a zero on two different tests. Based on what the deputy had witnessed, the client was asked to take, and submitted to, a urine test.
The client had extenuating medical reasons and was concerned about the medication she was on showing up in her urine. She was self-medicating and was treating pain. Attorney Lindsey Gergely of the Umansky Law Firm proactively received a copy of all police reports in the case and looked over them very closely. Attorney Gergely immediately contacted the prosecutor and explained the client's situation, including her medical condition. After reviewing the case and speaking with Attorney Gergely, the prosecutor decided to drop the charges against the client.
The police will pull you over if they suspect you are driving under the influence. Sometimes the medication people take may cause them to not drive as well as they could. However, for those who are legitimately trying to follow the law and are not taking pain medication simply because they want to, sometimes there are situations beyond their control.
If you have been charged with driving under the influence in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm for an initial consultation.

Domestic Violence Battery Charge Dropped
A recent Umansky Law Firm client was arrested for domestic violence battery in Brevard County. The man, a professional business person, and his wife were involved in a heated argument. Our client and the alleged victim met at a park to discuss some things going on in their relationship and things spiraled from there. Our client was arrested, but his wife did not want her husband to be prosecuted and took responsibility for most of the client's anger. To make matters worse, our client was given an order not to contact the alleged victim as well as ordered to live in another location other than his home.
Umansky Law Firm attorney Lindsey Gergely argued a Motion to Modify Contact in front of the judge, and convinced the judge to allow the client and the alleged victim to have contact and return home. Next, Attorney Gergely argued this was a case that was going to be hard to prove against the client based on the alleged victim's unwillingness to cooperate with the prosecution. There was also a lack of physical evidence. Due to these convincing arguments, the intake prosecutor decided not to file formal charges on the client and his nightmare was over before the arraignment date.

Employee Theft Case Dropped
A toy store employee was accused of possible theft from the store he worked at while on duty. When he was confronted about the theft, he admitted to stealing several MP3 players from the store. When the Loss Prevention Officer from the toy company obtained a full confession from the employee, employment was terminated and police were called to report the incident. After the police report was filed, the toy store employee called the Umansky Law Firm to defend him against the theft charge filed against him by his employer.
Umansky Law Firm attorney Gergely contacted the intake prosecutor on the case on several occasions and urged her not to file charges against the client. The client was enrolled in Valencia Community College and contemplating pursuing a career in the military. After several months of speaking about the case, the intake prosecutor chose not to pursue any charges against the client. The charge of theft was dropped despite the client’s confession. The client is now able to pursue a college education, the military, or anything else in the future without the crime of dishonesty haunting him.
If you have been charged with the crime of theft in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced theft defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm for an initial and confidential consultation.

Resisting Arrest without Violence Charges Dropped on Air Force Enlistee
A recent Umansky Law Firm client, and a future enlistee in the Air Force, was charged with resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct. This stems from an allegation that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a loud house party at a local apartment complex. Deputies inquiring about the party came into contact with the client, who police allege exchanged words with them. The client allegedly disobeyed the deputies’ commands and then began running from them. The deputies caught up with the client who tried to place him under arrest. The client allegedly resisted these efforts.
Umansky Law Firm attorney Gergely spoke with the recruiter from the United States Air Force and convinced him to speak with the prosecutor on the case to discuss what a grave impact these charges would have on the client’s military ambitions. Attorney Gergely also provided the prosecutor with a copy of the client’s ASVAB scores. Attorney Gergely worked hard and ultimately convinced the prosecutor to drop the charges. This enabled the client to enlist in the U.S. Air Force free of any prior criminal history.
Charges like those this Umansky Law Firm client faced can derail any kind of successful future you have planned. Don’t let a lapse in judgment permanently harm what you want to do with your life.
If you have been charged with a crime in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm for an initial confidential case consultation.

Aggravated Battery Charge Dropped
A recent Umansky Law Firm client, and a college student who was about to graduate with a degree in engineering, was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant person. This is a third degree domestic violence related felony. The state alleged that the defendant struck his fiancée while she was pregnant with their child.
Attorney Gergely of the Umansky Law Firm talked to the intake domestic violence and convinced the state not to file charges on our client. Attorney Gergely convinced the prosecutor that the argument was a disagreement between the defendant and the alleged victim, and that the victim was actually the one who struck the defendant first. Attorney Gergely told the prosecutor that the defendant was simply trying to calm the victim down when the contact in this case occurred. The Umansky Law Firm also submitted an affidavit from the victim in which she declined prosecution of the defendant. All of these factors combined convinced the state Attorney’s Office not to file charges on this case.
Due to the diligence of the attorneys of the Umansky Law Firm, the defendant was able to return home, have the baby with his fiancée, and finish school without having a criminal record to have to deal with in the future.
If you have been charged with domestic violence in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm for an initial and confidential consultation.

Orange County Deputies Arrest Man with Bag Full of Allegedly Stolen Goods
A 35-year-old man police and the media are calling a “career criminal” was arrested with a duffel bag full of allegedly stolen Victoria’s Secret underwear. Police claim the lingerie still had tags attached to them.
The alleged thief was arrested at a motel as he was walking out to a car last Friday. He was arrested by agents with the sheriff’s fugitive unit. The man was wanted on a probation violation for fleeing a law enforcement officer, grand theft, and an additional charge of grand theft from Miami-Dade County.
Police say the man has a rap sheet 30 pages long, going back to 1994 when he was first arrested for grand larceny in Jacksonville. He apparently pled guilty to that charge. He has also spent time in prison several times for different theft-related crimes. He was also arrested and charged for battery and homicide in 1995. However, the charge of homicide was dropped by the State Attorney’s Office.
It seems that it only takes one mistake in judgment to set some people up for a lifetime of run-ins with the law. While most people learn from their mistake and often pay for their mistake with fines or jail time, others seem to get stuck in a rut of constantly being charged with one thing or another.
No matter how many times you have been charged with a crime, if you are in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or elsewhere in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm. We offer a free and confidential case consultation.
