Orlando Criminal Attorney, Lindsey C. Gergely joined the Umansky Law Firm in November 2008. She came to the Umansky Law Firm after serving as an Assistant State Attorney in the Orange County State Attorney’s office, where she practiced in both the county and circuit courts.
Serving as the prosecutor in many criminal jury trials, Lindsey earned the title “Champion of Justice” from her supervisors. She worked with cases of:
Battery
Possession of controlled substances
Resisting arrest with violence
Disorderly conduct
Criminal mischief
Driving under the influence
No valid driver’s license
Animal cruelty
Motor vehicle title fraud
When she left the State Attorney’s office, she was part of the Domestic Violence Specialty Unit where she handled such issues as:
Domestic violence battery
Stalking
Assault
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Lindsey has acquired a great deal of training from her time in the courtroom. Working as a prosecutor has given her valuable insight into how best to defend her clients now that she is a defense lawyer.
She has also taken various extra courses and seminars, such as Driving Under the Influence Trial Advocacy, Advanced Driving Under the Influence, and Domestic Violence Prosecution.
While she was at the University of Arkansas, Lindsey’s academic achievement put her on the Chancellor’s List and while she was at Florida State University, she won the Jessup International Moot Court Intramural competition. She was also an active member of the Student Bar Association and the Women’s Law Symposium at Florida State University.
Local Community Involvement
Lindsey is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Arkansas Bar Association. She also belongs to the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. When not practicing law, she likes to meet with her running group and train with them for various races. Recently she ran the Disney Full Marathon and plans to participate in many future races.
