Caught Stealing from Millenia Mall
There is a lot to choose from when you go to the Millenia Mall located in Orlando, FL. The Millenia Mall has many high end stores like Bloomingdales, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Chanel, Gucci, Cartier, and Coach among other stores. The Mall of Millenia offers a special shopping experience, whether visiting Orlando for business or pleasure or even if you are residing right here in Central Florida. Unfortunately, tourists, residents, and visitors alike sometimes make a mistake and are caught shoplifting at one of the aforementioned stores. Mall of Millenia, and stores such as Macy's, Bloomingdales, or Neiman Marcus have a strong anti-shoplifting policy and utilize security guards and surveillance techniques to catch people who are often charged with petit or grand theft for stealing from their stores. If you get caught stealing at the Mall at Millenia, it is very likely you will be trespassed from the mall indefinitely and if you ever come back into the store or the mall itself, you could face future arrest and a night at the Orange County Jail for trespassing after a warning.
Surprisingly enough, many of the people who get arrested at the Mall at Millenia or at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, or Neiman Marcus are college students, housewives, nurses, homemakers, visitors, tourists, professionals, lawyers, teachers, and doctors. In many cases it is a child who gets caught stealing and is taken to the Juvenile Justice Center. Anyone can make a mistake. At the Umansky Law Firm, we believe that single mistake should not ruin the rest of your life.
Theft charges are very serious offenses and are considered by many as a crime of dishonesty, and as a result can lead to a loss of college scholarships, jobs, and have a devastating impact on someone's career. In the legal system, petit and grand theft charges are taken seriously and those who are accused of shoplifting can face fines, court costs, probation, suspension of driver's license, and potential jail or prison time. For those who have never been in trouble with the law, being handcuffed and transported to jail is no picnic and can be the most harrowing and frightening of experiences. For those who have not been arrested, but instead issued a notice to appear in court, it can bring a time of uncertainty and confusion as to what the future will hold for them. In some cases, the police will not arrest the perpetrator or issue a notice to appear, but instead file charges with the State Attorney's office and unfortunately there can be a several year wait before the person is charged and brought into the judicial system. This situation is rare, but does happen and can lead to a person feeling anxious about the pending charges and potential warrant for their arrest. For those who have never been in trouble before, there may be Diversion or Intervention programs for adults and Teen Court programs for kids who have been caught stealing. These programs offer the opportunity for an adult or juvenile to get his or her charges dropped with the potential of getting them expunged off of their criminal history record.
The majority of the lawyers at the Umansky Law Firm are former prosecutors who have many years of combined experience in prosecuting theft crimes and are now prepared to put their years of experience to work defending people who are accused of theft or shoplifting at the Mall at Millenia, Bloomingdales, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, or any of the Millenia Mall stores.
