Criminal Consequences Questions

Criminal Law in Orlando and throughout Central Florida

What if I was stopped, searched and arrested without probable cause?

If your attorney can demonstrate to the court that the arresting officer did not have probable cause to stop you, your charges may be dismissed or dropped, or the evidence found as a result of that search may be inadmissible. Our Orlando criminal defense firm will work hard to expose law enforcement officers who failed to follow the law.

I have never been arrested before? Will this ruin the rest of my life?

While each criminal defense case is different and some charges more serious than others, an experienced criminal defense attorney may be able to guide you through the system so as to minimize the more serious consequences or penalties that you could be facing. In many cases if you are a first offender, we may be able to place you into a diversionary program wherein your charges will be dropped or dismissed if you complete certain program requirements such as community service, classes or counseling. What are my best chances of avoiding criminal consequences?

We understand how criminal convictions can place difficult limitations on your freedom. The consequence that concerns most defendants is the negative impact on their criminal record.

The first and most obvious course of action would be to have the charges dropped or dismissed. If the charges can not get dropped or dismissed, we will try hard to see if we can get the judge or government to agree to withhold adjudication or withhold a conviction on your record.

In other cases, we may require the government to try and prove the case against you at a jury trial and fight hard to try and obtain a Not Guilty verdict on the charges. Meet with an experienced attorney at our criminal defense firm to learn more about your options and legal rights.
