Juvenile Attorney
Serving Orlando, Orange County,
Seminole, Osceola, & Central Florida
A child is more precious than any possession – protecting our children is a natural instinct that does not disappear when they end up on the wrong side of the law.
The Central Florida Juvenile Crime Attorneys at The Umansky Law Firm understands the unique nature of juvenile charges and how to defend young people who’ve made bad choices. If your child’s future is at stake, we’ll work hard to defend your child.
What can a Florida Juvenile Lawyer who do for your family?
- We will attempt to ensure your child is prosecuted as a juvenile as opposed to an adult.
- We will defend your son or daughter with the same aggressive strategy and quick thinking that we utilize in adult defense.
- When possible, we will do all we can to seek a dismissal, dropped charges, or charges for a lesser offense.
- We will look for inconsistencies, rights violations or lack of evidence in the prosecution’s case.
- We will attempt to suppress any illegally obtained evidence.
- First Offender Program where dismissal of charges may happen
- Look for alternative sentences such as counseling, rehabilitative programs and community service as opposed to incarceration
Our lawyers work intimately with the Florida juvenile court system
Founding partner William Umansky works for proactive change in the juvenile court system. Mr. Umansky serves as a voluntary judge in the Orange County Teen Court program. Teen Court is a program for first time offenders and results in charges being dropped if the child completes certain requirements aimed at teaching the child not to repeat as an offender. Mr. Umansky is also a member of the Board of Directors for Teen Court and also raises funds for the same program as a member of the Board of Directors for Teen Alternatives, Inc.
First offense juveniles are often given second chances.
Our juvenile lawyers are dedicated to protecting your child’s interests. Not only do we care about protecting your child’s future, but we can inform parents where to find resources that may help get to the root of the emotional issues which may have contributed to their children’s delinquent behavior. There are intervention programs designed to educate children on the consequences of breaking the law, and counseling sessions can be very successful in identifying and solving underlying issues. Many times, our juvenile lawyers are able to seek dropped charges in exchange for rehabilitation programs like Orange County Teen Court.
Your child deserves another chance
Whether your child is a first-time offender or repeat offender, The Umansky Law Firm can offer aggressive defense tactics and real solutions. A juvenile record can impact a child’s life affecting all aspects of life including employment, social relationships, college living arrangements, college scholarships, applications and loans, etc. We will do our best to lessen the consequences which can limit your child’s future choices.
